SSC Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 – Apply Online for 2536 Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2026 for recruitment to Group C posts viz. Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operators (DEO). Online applications can be submitted from 07.09.2026 to 07.10.2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Education Qualification (As on 07-10-2026):

  • For DEO/DEO Grade 'A' in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
  • For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade 'A' (except above): Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
  • Candidates who have appeared in their 12th Standard can also apply, but must possess the essential qualification on or before 07-10-2026.

Age Limit (As on 01-08-2026): 18 to 27 years. Candidates born not before 02-08-1999 and not later than 01-08-2008 are eligible.

Tier-I:

  • English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect Narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
  • General Intelligence: Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number Systems, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Statistical Charts.
  • General Awareness: Current events, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

Tier-II:

  • Mathematical Abilities: Same topics as Tier-I Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Reasoning and General Intelligence: Same topics as Tier-I General Intelligence.
  • English Language and Comprehension: Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, Spot the Error, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
  • General Awareness: Same topics as Tier-I General Awareness.
  • Computer Knowledge/Proficiency: Computer Basics, Software (MS Office), Working with Internet and e-mails, Basics of networking and cyber security.

Physical Standards (For LDC in BRO)

Requirements for the post of Lower Division Clerk in Border Roads Organization (BRO) are available at Annexure-XVI. Only male candidates are eligible for BRO vacancies.

Medical Standards (For LDC in BRO)

  • Visual Standards: Visual acuity not less than 6/12 each eye or Right eye 6/6, Left 6/24. Corrective spectacles are permitted.
  • General Health: Must be free from nervous instability, sound health, no constitutional or acquired disability.
  • Permanent Rejection: Impaired constitution, abnormal gait/posture, gross physical deformity, defective intelligence, deafness, pronounced stammering, mental/nervous instability, sexually transmitted diseases, squint, colour blindness, chronic lung infection, heart murmur/hypertension, etc.
  • Temporary Rejection: Pterygium, Conjunctivitis, defective vision (correctable), chronic tonsillitis, decayed teeth, skin infections, hernia, varicose veins, acute respiratory infection, anemia, BMI above 30, etc.

  2. Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website if not already done. Aadhaar based authentication is recommended.
  3. Login with your Registration Number and Password.
  4. Click on the "Apply" link for "Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026".
  5. Fill in the online application form. Capture your live photograph and upload your signature as per instructions.
  6. Pay the application fee (if applicable) through online modes.
  7. Preview the application, agree to the declaration, and submit the final form. Take a printout for future reference.
